B A 325J - The Social, Legal, and Ethical Responsibilities of Business Considers the role of the business in modern society. A wide range of social and legal issues will be addressed during class discussions and assignments, including: environmental impact, discrimination, consumerism, workplace safety, worker rights, and the impact of globalization. Students are expected to research and write about issues from various sides, analyzing ethical dilemmas and the relative merits of possible solutions.
Prerequisites: PHIL 130 & (MGT 202 OR 240) & JR OR SR Credit Hours: 4 General Education Code: 1J Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken three times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
