BIOS 515 - Neural Basis of Sensation and Movement Sensory system function and the neural control of movement in vertebrates: how molecules, cells and circuits of nervous systems give rise to sensation (vision, hearing, touch, smell, etc.) and to basic behaviors (locomotion, posture, orientation of head and eyes toward sensory stimuli, etc.) In each class, students hear a lecture and discuss assigned articles from the research literature. A major goal of the course is to train students in critical analysis of primary journal articles. Assessment is based on two essay exams.
