OCOM 8149 - Selective Surgery - Otorhinolaryngology Students are required to select four weeks of surgical subspecialty rotation(s) to supplement/complement the four-week General Surgery (OCOM 8140) rotation. No more than 12 weeks may be spent in surgical rotations (excluding the general surgery rotation). Surgical specialties that may be completed in 2 week rotations include OB/Gyn surgery, oncologic surgery, ophthalmologic surgery, orthopedic surgery, otorhinolaryngology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, proctology and urology.
Course Outcomes - During surgical subspecialty rotations, students are expected to develop their competencies in many basic skills.
- Learning objectives are provided in the syllabus to guide the student in his/her learning and to serve as a baseline for assessment of the student’s skills, knowledge and professional behavior.
