CFS 2700 - Intimate and Family Relationships Explores human relationship processes leading to a variety of marriage and family experiences over the life span. The importance of cultural contexts and individual values, styles, and decision-making will be considered as they relate to relationship processes.

Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will analyze major issues in marriage and family relationships, including how cultural contexts, economic and non-economic (e.g. time and energy) resources, individual values and styles, relationship dynamics, and decision-making.
- Students will apply basic concepts and general theoretical perspectives about marriage and family issues.
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of the dynamic nature of marriages, families, and intimate relationships.
- Students will identify and discuss with an open mind one’s own as well as others’ personal values, culture, desires, and goals regarding personal and family styles.
- Students will use decision making models and their understanding of family processes to make informed choices about one’s marriage, family, and intimate relationships.
