ENG 4911 - Field Experience in Secondary English/Language and Composition Field experience to provide practical applications of materials, methods, and techniques of language and composition instruction as appropriate in various secondary school settings. Students will observe classroom teachers and carry out various instructional tasks as the cooperating teachers deem appropriate.
Requisites: ENG 4510 concurrent Credit Hours: 1 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 laboratory Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Assist classroom teachers with creation and implementation of lesson plans.
- Evaluate the success of lesson plans in promoting students’ knowledge of course material.
- Observe successful classroom management strategies for secondary school teachers.
- Test various instructional strategies for teaching language and composition under supervision of classroom teachers.
