ZULU 1110 - Elementary Zulu I Culture based approach to increased language proficiency. Students continue to develop listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills as they study diverse history and customs of Zulu speakers.
Credit Hours: 4 General Education Code: 2CP Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student will be able to formulate greetings in IsiZulu and introduce themselves, as well as say goodbye according to the circumstances.
- The student will acquire knowledge about culture and would be able to identify some Zulu values and beliefs. This will enable to relate the Zulu culture with their everyday experiences.
- The students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of basic sentence structure, such as affirmative/ negative/ active voice and passive voice and vocabulary related to nationality, numbers, time, days and basic objectives.
