FILM 3440J - The Practice of Film Criticism

Students learn to write publishable film reviews in a workshop setting. Weekly screenings.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Become familiar with the rhetorical and compositional challenges of writing a film review.
  • Become skilled writers with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Learn to tailor reviews to specific audiences.
  • Write and revise several reviews of films screened in class.
