DANC 2235 - Dance Improvisation Exploration of choreographic concepts to develop unique, innovative movement vocabularies through the real-time immediacy of improvisation. Develop movement material into spontaneous, performable dances through improvisational structures and scores.
Requisites: DANC 1231 Credit Hours: 1.5 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 12.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 studio Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will access choreographic tools within improvised structures.
- Students will access specificity and clarity in improvised movement.
- Students will demonstrate making informed movement compositional choices in service to the whole.
- Students will expand their own individual movement vocabulary beyond dance technique vocabulary.
- Students will identify individual habits and address judgements/biases that may inhibit choice-making.
