REC 323 - Swift Water Rescue Teaches recognition and avoidance of common river hazards, execution of self-rescue techniques, and rescue techniques for paddlers in distress. Emphasis is placed on personal safety and practice of commonly used rescue skills. Techniques for dealing with hazards that carry great risks, such as strainers, entrapments, pins and rescue vest applications, are also practiced.
