Academic and Other Requirements

Academic and Other Requirements

Most majors within the College have requirements that you must meet in order to remain active or progress in your major. Further information about these specific requirements can be found under each program’s description.

The College’s policy on internships, practica, field experiences, and student teaching requires that you be registered for the experience in the quarter(s) that you are actually fulfilling the requirements for the course. The only exception to this requirement is an experience that takes place over winter break, in which case, you may register for the course during either fall or winter quarter.

Graduation Requirements

To qualify for baccalaureate conferral, each graduation candidate in the College of Health Sciences and Professions must earn at least 192 quarter hours of acceptable credit, with a minimum accumulative GPA of 2.0 and a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the major; complete the major program requirements; and fulfill the University’s General Education requirements. If you are pursuing a teaching license, you must have a minimum accumulative GPA of 2.75 and a GPA of 2.75 in each teaching field you are pursuing.
