AST 4010 - National Security/Leadership Responsibilities/Commissioning Preparation Students gain understanding of the basic elements of national security policy and process. Students gain basic understanding of Department of the Air Force operations as well as the selected roles of the military in society and current domestic and international issues affecting the military profession. Students examine the responsibility, authority, and functions of a Department of the Air Force commander and selected provisions of the military justice system.
Requisites: AST 1010, 1020, 2010, 2020, 3010, 3020 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to apply listening, speaking, and writing skills in Air Force particular formats and situations with accuracy, clarity, and appropriate style.
- Students will be able to discuss the air and space power functions and competencies.
- Students will be able to describe the basic elements of national security policy and process.
- Students will be able to describe selected roles of the military in society and current issues affecting the military profession as well as selected provisions of the military justice system.
