HLTH 6740 - Biostatistics in Public Health

Principles of biostatistics in the context of multiple public health applications including basic and advanced statistical techniques for analyzing and investigating public health issues including disparities.

Requisites:
Credit Hours: 3

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to apply biostatistical methods to quantify and propose solutions to public health problems.
  • Students will be able to organize, identify, and retrieve relevant scientific evidence.
  • Students will be able to select appropriate statistical methods for public health problems.
  • Students will be able to explain the basic concepts of descriptive and inferential biostatistics.
  • Students will be able to analyze public health data using statistical software.
  • Students will be able to interpret results of biostatistical analysis.
