- Assesses the implications of development theory for applied research and practice.
- Critically evaluates theoretical frameworks in the field and their evolution.
- Examine conceptions of development as a historical process, as a material social condition, and as a narrative.
- Identifies the disciplinary origins of Development Studies and assesses the successes and failures of the field as an interdisciplinary venture.
