POLS 5901 - Special Topics in American Politics This course provides an in-depth exploration of a special topic in American politics. Students are exposed to key concepts, theoretical debates, and/or methodological concerns with respect to a special topic in American politics.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 60.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to communicate key ideas that pertain to a special topic in American politics in oral and/or written formats.
- Students will be able to identify key resources to be used in answering questions that pertain to a special topic in American politics.
- Students will be able to identify the key events and political culture of a special topic in American politics.
- Students will be able to apply the key concepts of a special topic in American politics.
- Students will be able to discuss key theoretical debates in a special topic in American politics.
- Students will be able to relate key debates in a special topic to larger debates in American politics.
