SW 5922 - Foundation Practicum 2
Continues integration of generalist theory and practice, including professional ethics and behavior. Students engage in 280 hours of supervised generalist practice activities such as case management, groupwork, education, and advocacy under the auspices of a social service agency. Courses in the 5921-5922 sequence are evaluated using learning outcomes derived from the Council on Social Work Education’s Educational Policies and Accreditation Standards (2022), including the competencies and practice behaviors described therein. As students progress through each course, they are expected to demonstrate greater independence with planning and execution of learning activities that fulfill the competencies.
Requisites: SW 5801 and 5921 and SW 5802 concurrent. Warning: No credit for this class and SW 5923 and SW 5924

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to implement learning activities consistent with generalist social work competencies and practice behaviors
- Students will be able to apply professional behavior principles and ethical decision-making models to practice dilemmas
- Students will be able to integrate theory and research in engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation at the individual, family, organization, group, and community levels
- Students will be able to formulate strategies of anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice to advance human rights and social justice
