SW 6921 - Advanced Practicum 1


Provides integration of clinical theory and practice, including professional ethics and behavior. Students orient to the agency and begin supervised clinical practice across 280 hours, including diagnostic assessment and psychosocial intervention to address mental and emotional disorders. Courses in the 6921-6922 sequence are evaluated using learning outcomes derived from the Council on Social Work Education’s Educational Policies and Accreditation Standards (2022), including the competencies and practice behaviors described therein. As students progress through each course, they are expected to demonstrate greater independence with planning and execution of learning activities that fulfill the competencies.

Requisites: Must complete the foundation year of the MSW Program or be admitted to Advanced Standing.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will be able to formulate strategies of anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice to advance human rights and social justice
