IHS 5201 - Quality, Safety and Service in Healthcare Leadership This course examines the issues related to the leaders role in developing and executing quality, safety and service and the interdependence of these strategies on outcomes in healthcare.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to apply selected tools/methods in real circumstances in their selected organizations and document outcomes.
- Students will be able to articulate the multiple dimensions of service and how each contributes to patient satisfaction and organizational success.
- Students will be able to describe the broad range and depth of quality and safety issues in healthcare.
- Students will be able to describe the difference between process and outcome measures.
- Students will be able to identify appropriate measures of quality and interpret generated data for sustainable improvement.
