ENG 6580 - Theories of Writing & Composing

Examines theories of how people create and revise texts.

Requisites:
Credit Hours: 4
Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to identify connections between theories of composing and pedagogical practices in Rhetoric and Composition, both contemporary and historical.
  • Students will be able to articulate, critique, and apply major theories of writing.
  • Students will be able to analyze pedagogical practices using major theories of writing and the history of Rhetoric and Composition as interpretive lenses.
