NRSE 3102 - Professional Essentials and Applications of Clinical Judgment IV


The theoretical foundations of healthcare ethics including definitions of ethics, history of bioethics and nursing ethics, and professional ethical and legal standards for nursing are discussed. The ethical and legal obligations of professional nurses in their role of client advocacy are examined. Ethical decision-making models are introduced. Clinical reasoning and clinical judgment will be utilized as they relate to the content. This course meets the BRICKS component for Ethics and Reasoning.

Requisites: NRSE 2102, 2112, 2122, and 2132. Warning: No credit if NRSE 2221.
