MDIA 4320 - South by Southwest Industry Immersion The SXSW Industry Immersion course provides students the opportunity to engage with all facets of the tech, film, and music industries. Strong emphasis on networking, professional development, application of skills and academic knowledge in a real-world environment, and reflection of self as a professional/learner.
Requisites: Permission required Credit Hours: 3 OHIO BRICKS: Bridge: Learning and Doing Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 seminar Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Term(s) Typically Offered: Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to make connections between their academic knowledge and relevant SXSW experiences.
- Students will be able to identify and make connections across disciplines and perspectives from attendees and session programming.
- Students will be able to identify, adapt, and apply skills, abilities, theories, or methodologies gained in previous course work to their experience at South by Southwest.
- Students will be able to develop a presentation using a format, language, or visual representation in ways that enhance meaning.
- Students will be able to demonstrate a developing sense of self as a learner and build on prior experience to respond to new and challenging contexts.
