NRSE 6843 - Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Practicum I
Focuses on the role of the adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner to provide comprehensive healthcare for adult individuals from diverse backgrounds in the acute care setting. Emphasis is on the advanced assessment, diagnosis, and clinical management related to acute and emergent complex conditions. Focus includes risk assessment, health promotion, and prevention for acute conditions for the adult and older adult.

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to describe the role of the AGACNP to provide healthcare for adult individuals from diverse backgrounds with complex health problems.
- Students will be able to discuss the knowledge from physiological, psychological, social, and health sciences to provide evidence-based care collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Students will be able to discuss risk prevention and health promotion strategies for adults with complex health conditions based on evidence-based practice.
- Students will be able to identify differential diagnoses and symptom management plans for adults with complex conditions based in advanced assessment skills in the acute care setting.
- Students will be able to list appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions with emphasis on safety, cost, and efficacy.
- Students will be able to demonstrate commonly used procedures or skills in the acute care setting.
- Students will be able to describe ethical and legal considerations related to advanced practice nursing.
