NRSE 6840 - Family Nurse Practitioner Practicum I
Focuses on the role of the family nurse practitioner to provide comprehensive healthcare for individuals and families from diverse backgrounds in the primary care setting. Emphasis is on advanced assessment, diagnosis and clinical management relevant to the developmental, physical, and psycho-social health issues of individuals and families across the lifespan in the primary care setting.
Requisites: NRSE 7230

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to describe the role of the FNP to provide comprehensive healthcare for individuals and families from diverse backgrounds with acute and chronic health problems in the primary care setting.
- Students will be able to discuss risk prevention and health promotion strategies for patients across the lifespan using evidence-based practice.
- Students will be able to discuss the knowledge from physiological, psychological, social, and health sciences to provide evidence-based care collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Students will be able to identify the social, ethical, legal, economic, political, technological, and environmental issues in the care of individuals and families in primary care.
- Students will be able to discuss practice management principles utilized in primary care.
