EDCS 509 - Political Philosophies of Citizenship Education
Use of popular literature and democratic theory and documentary evidence to critically examine democratic education. Focus on understanding the relationships between democracy and education, community and the individual. Education and social change within a democratic context will be examined, as well as the school’s role in promoting empowered democratic citizenship.
