T3 461A - Social History Through the Arts An examination and comparison of social and political forces of two periods, the Elizabethan and the present, as expressed through the arts. Contemporary issues emphasized are changing gender roles, racism, the influence of African American arts (particularly music and dance) and ethics related to freedom of expression and support for the arts.
