C S 230 - Computer Programming I Intended as a stand-alone class for students who want to learn about computer programming for their use in unrelated fields. Basic programming and program structure. Programming and computing systems. Debugging and verification of programs. Data representation. Organization and characteristics of computers. Survey of computers, languages, systems, and applications. Computer solution of several numerical and nonnumerical problems using one or more programming languages. JAVA taught.
Prerequisites: 2 YRS HS ALGEBRA OR MATH 113 OR EQUIV Credit Hours: 5 General Education Code: 2AS Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken an unlimited number of times, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
