OCOM 609 - Respiratory System
The respiratory course introduces students to the normal structure and function of the respiratory system and explores abnormalties and malfunction of the system that result in the loss of homeostatis and health. The course foucuses on understanding the thorax and the interrelatedness of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems; clinical reasoning strategies to approach the differential diagnosis of conditions that present as cough and dyspnea; clinical management plans for patients who present with respiratory problems; and patient interviewing and physical examination skills as they relate to patients who present with respiratory problems.
