OCOM 6021 - Biomedical Science 1 This sixteen-week course is the first of four courses that integrate basic science material with clinical science issues. The three main components of these courses are clinical case study, formal laboratory sessions and problem sets. Small group discussion sessions focus on clinical case studies. In addition, formal laboratory sessions in gross anatomy and microanatomy are designed to explore the relationships between form and function in a clinically relevant setting. Finally, biomedical science problem sets further supplement material covered during the small group discussion process, providing students with opportunities to interact with content experts throughout the biomedical science disciplines.
