AAS 3520 - Blacks in Contemporary American Cinema Explores the representation of African Americans in contemporary American cinema since the 1970s. It also examines the contributions of African Americans on both sides of the camera, as well as various themes conveyed in the films of the period. This class will not only understand film as a text, it will also critique, analyze and investigate the social and political messages within the film text.
