HIST 3201 - Women in American History Since 1877 American women’s history since Reconstruction. Topics include the experiences of immigrant women in the United States, prostitution in the Gilded Age, the Progressive Era birth-control movement, achievement of the right to vote, women in the two world wars, women in the civil rights movement, the new feminist movement, the backlash against feminism, Roe v. Wade and the abortion debate.
