HIST 3340 - Zionism and Modern Israel Will examine the history and nature of Jewish nationalism. It will begin with the early 20th- century struggle for Jewish politics and culture internationally and how this served as an impetus for the establishment of Israel. The second half will examine ways in which Jewish nationalism shaped daily life in the state of Israel since its founding to the present.
