EDTE 4220 - Assessing and Teaching Struggling Readers Initial introduction in in-depth assessment and evaluation of students’ reading ability with the intent of preparing programs of instruction designed to improve reading weaknesses. Candidates learn and administer a number of different assessments and plan instruction according to determined student needs. Emphasis is placed on working with a single student who has been identified as reading below grade level. Candidates write a final case report of one student’s reading strengths and needs.
