HIST 3170 - Survey of Ohio History A survey of Ohio history, from the time of the Mound builders, through the conflicts between the British and French empires, to the creation of Ohio as a state. Much of the focus is on the events of the 19th- century, as Ohio was a central battleground in conflicts over slavery and abolition, and labor and industrial groups. Also examines the process of deindustrialization in the later half of the 20th- century.
