HIST 3401 - African History Through Theater Will explore changes in African societies and cultures in the 19th- and 20th- centuries and African dramatists’ perspectives thereon. Theatrical works written by African playwrights will be a medium for studying issues as Africans understood them. African playwrights will be seen as social historians concerned with the everyday nature of the lives of common people. Examines a variety of African perspectives and focus on liberation struggles and the independence period.
