SOC 4300 - Sociology of Organization This course concentrates on the structure and process of formal organizations. We study various organizational forms, including bureaucracies and nonprofits, in detail. We will also explore the major theoretical perspectives for understanding how organizations function. The course will also explore the impact of organizations on individual identity, autonomy, and power.
