SW 2601 - Social Welfare Overview and Trends The first of a two-course sequence that covers the social welfare policy and services content of the foundation curriculum for undergraduate social work education. Introduces the basic concepts, social work values, ethics, and principles to understand social welfare programs and services. Explores the historical content and evolution of social welfare policy and how the dominant values, contextual factors, and ideologies shape policy in a broad range of social welfare arenas.
