T3 4820 - Art and History: 1950s and 1960s An interdisciplinary examination of the years from the late 1940s to late 1960s that includes examinations of art (from Abstract Expressionism to Pop), film (from Film Noir to the influence of the counterculture), literature (from neo-realism to postmodern), and intellectual life (social criticism). Students will examine key documents and learn how to interpret them by placing them in historical context. They will write a synthetic paper on a key topic covered in the class.
