GEOL 2090 - Gems, Jewels, and Crystals An exploration of the Earth’s most valuable minerals, gems and jewels, with close study of how, where, and why they form. Topics also include how earth scientists discover, extract, and process the crystals on their way to their ultimate destination, the jewelry store. The course culminates in a close look at the geological and contextual origins of the world’s most famous and valuable crystals.
