ANTH 3830 - Cultures of Latin America Survey of cultural diversity present in Latin America with emphasis on the application of anthropological theory and method to the understanding of particular sociocultural systems.
Requisites: ANTH 1010 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Analysis and Articulation of Anthropological methods and theory.
- Breadth of knowledge in Latin American ethnography.
- Recognize multiple cultural perspectives.
- Refine critical reading, writing and oral presentation skills.
- Students will learn a depth of knowledge concerning indigenous Latin American cultures through the methods and analyses of anthropological archaeology. The time span extends from contact period to modern day.
