QBA 2720 - Business Analytics Business Analytics is the use, analysis and interpretation of data to drive decision-making. Teaches students how to apply problem-solving processes to business situations, think critically and analytically, and understand how to analyze the internal and external environments of business organizations. Upon completion students will have a better understanding of analytical methods for managing today’s organizations, and how these tools can be used to assist the decision-making process in a variety of business contexts.
Requisites: QBA 1720 or 2010 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Apply decision modeling techniques to business problems.
- Formulate and solve decision models using commercial software such as Excel.
- Identify assumptions and limitations of each technique, and the impact of these limitations on the implementation of the solution.
- Identify required data and appropriate sources of reliable data.
