OCOM 6011 - Interprofessional Care This course provides students with an intensive overview of interprofessional education and health care delivery. In addition, students are exposed to experiential learning activities where they learn how teams of care givers evaluate and treat patients in key settings. These settings have been identified to foster the development of skillsets that leads to students being competent and successful in the patient-centered medical home model of health care delivery.
Course Outcomes - Describe the importance of adopting interdisciplinary and team-based approaches (in various health care settings).
- Identify roles of and contributions from health care team members (in various health care settings).
- Perform full admission history and physicals for patients.
- Apply the principles of transition of care in a patient scenario.
- Apply principles of leadership to practical problems.
- Apply the primary principles of conflict resolution.
