BME 5100 - Medical Informatics Medical information processing, including biomedical databases and information retrieval systems, electronic patient records, medical imaging, biosignal processing, patient care systems, and clinical decision support systems. Effective use of technical resources available to clinicians and biomedical researchers. Issues involved in developing new biomedical information systems, including public policy and regulation, security, privacy, and ethics.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will have the foundation for advanced research and system development.
