INST 5907 - Special Topics in Southeast Asian Studies: Cultural Analysis Through Media

Undertakes cultural analysis through analysis of a variety of media.

Requisites:
Credit Hours: 4
Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 8.0 hours.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to demonstrate a grasp of the socio-political foundations of media within the region.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of media history.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate competency in the interpretation of media texts.
  • Students will be able to identify and discuss a range of theoretical perspectives related to media texts.
