ME 7200 - Advanced Non-linear Finite Element Analysis


Advanced study in finite element analysis of solids and fluids, with emphasis on methodologies for nonlinear problems. Fundamental theory and computer implementations of various techniques.

Requisites: Permission required and CE 5200 or ME 6570

Learning Outcomes:
  • An ability to analyze non-linear mechanical and manufacturing problems, such as metal forming and casting using solid modeling and advanced finite element methods.

  • An ability to use the FEA results to optimize manufacturing processes.
