IHS 5517 - Legal Issues for the Health Professions Explores the structure of the U.S. legal system, describes regulations and caselaw applicable to the health professions, analyzes the law regarding misconduct that may result in professional, financial, or criminal penalties, and applies the law to issues that arise in professional practice.
Requisites: Permission required Credit Hours: 1 - 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 3.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Apply legal concepts to the practice of health professionals (e.g., negligence, fraud, breach of contract).
