IHS 5210 - Fundamentals of Global Health This course will provide a comprehensive overview of health and healthcare from a global perspective. The course will explore measurement of population health, global burden of disease, comparative health systems, communicable and non-communicable disease, and socioeconomic factors in health. Throughout the course, students will be encouraged to critically evaluate determinants of health and health interventions.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Critically evaluate impact of major global health interventions.
- Describe the relationships between social, environmental factors and health.
