INST 5000 - International Studies: Themes, Trends and Perspectives Survey of major political, economic, and cultural themes in international studies through discussions on key contemporary issues. Acquaints graduate students with the fields and branches of International Studies and provides students with the tools to frame research questions within International Studies.

- Describe and compare theories of international studies from an interdisciplinary perspective.
- Explain the history of international studies and major debates surrounding this history.
- Formulate research questions of international studies based on previous literature.
