IHS 5300 - Fundamental Health Policy: Concepts, Components and Systems Exploring health policy from a systematic approach; linking public health and healthcare issues to policy processes. Examination of policy formation, individuals, organizations, and systems involved in this processes; in relation to various issues in population health, health promotion, and healthcare delivery.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe the history of health policy in the United States and current health policy approaches
- Students will be able to identify health disparities and equalities among current US health policy
- Students will be able to define the various roles of the players in health policy formation and advocacy
- Students will be able to contrast issues in health policy between US and other global models
