IHS 5402 - Veterans Affairs System: Healthcare Perspectives

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA); including mission, organizational structure, history and evolution are explored with an emphasis placed on veterans’ health and healthcare services.

Requisites:
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken.

Learning Outcomes:
  • The student will be able to distinguish the major functions of the United State Veterans Affairs.
  • The student will be able to provide guidance to veterans with regards to optimizing services of the United States Veterans Affairs.
  • The student will be able to communicate the various veteran advocacies to assist veterans.
  • The student wil be able to list various non-United States Veterans Affairs- related agencies who work on behalf of veterans health.
