IHS 5401 - Diseases and Conditions in Veterans: Prevalence, Diagnosis, and Treatment This course examines the current literature and epidemiological data on numerous biological, psychological, social diseases and conditions in military veterans and their families. This course also investigates the challenges regarding diagnosis and treatment of current and former military personnel and their families in comparison to civilian patients.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student will be able to identify differences in the prevalence and incidence of numerous health outcomes in veterans as compared to civilian patients.
- The student will be able to cite specific differences in treatment of numerous health outcomes in veterans as compared to civilian patients.
- The student will be able to compare and contrast the challenges that a healthcare provider may have when treating with veterans and civilian populations.
