RFPD 4540 - Clothing for Persons with Special Needs

Exploring dressing techniques and functional design alternatives for individuals with special needs. Focus given to populations such as elderly, physically, or mentally disabled, and temporarily or permanently disabled.

Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Define special needs populations and the clothing and textile needs they require.
  • Identify government agencies, industry groups and private groups involved in clothing for people with special needs.
  • Learn the categories of special needs.
